Cruise objectives

The objectives for the third METROL-cruise to Aarhus Bay (spring 2004) were to

sample gravity cores (GC) and Rumohr Lot-cores (RL) in triplicates at Station M1 and M5 to estimate depth of the sulfate-methane transition zone (SMTZ) and compare these to earlier samplings (spring and fall 2003).

obtain 5-m long cores at six locations for geological descriptions of the sediments, which serve for a ground-truthing of the interpretations of the high resolution seismic survey made with MS Line in spring 2003 (cruise LN03).
