Aarhus Bay fall cruise 2004 with St.F. Henry
Cruise objectives While Aarhus Bay initially served for seasonal analyses of methane and sulfate profiles, the significance of this area has considerably increased during the course of the project. The high resolution seismic survey performed in March 2003 added significantly to the knowledge on the geological setting and the occurrence of free gas. This and the good data sets on methane and sulphate profiles obtained during previous seasonal sampling campaigns stimulated us to further expand the investigations. As a consequence, the 2004 fall trip to Aarhus Bay was dedicated to an expanded sampling program at the stations M1 and M5 for various geochemical and microbiological parameters, comparable to those performed during the larger research cruises. |
